Privacy policy
Last updated: 30 October 2026
This page explains what data NanoZap TV (the app for Android TV, Google TV, Fire TV and Android phones, including the versions downloaded from Google Play and the Amazon Appstore, and the nanozaptv.com website) handles, why, where it is stored and how you can delete it. In short: we only ask for what your account needs to work, your videos don't go through us, we don't sell data to anyone and we don't use advertising.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller is Sixpeaks di Daniele Di Mauro, Via Soldato Mannino 37, 95037 San Giovanni La Punta (CT), Italy, VAT no. IT04894480872.
For any privacy question, write to [email protected].
2. What data we handle
| Data | When | What it's for |
|---|---|---|
| When you create an account | Sign-in, confirmation code, new password, account notices. | |
| Password | When you create an account | Sign-in, and unlocking the Studio code if you forget it. We never store it in plain text: we only keep a fingerprint that cannot be turned back into the password. |
| Linked devices | When you link a TV or a phone | Knowing which devices belong to your account, showing them to you and letting you unlink them. |
| Synced data: playlists, libraries and network folders (address, username and password to reach them), favorites, My list, thumbs-up and thumbs-down ratings, watch progress, settings | Only if you link an account | Finding everything the same on every device. It is encrypted on the device before it leaves and stays encrypted on our servers; not even the names of the items are readable. |
| Premium status | Free trial and purchases | Knowing whether your account has Premium, until when and where you bought it. For purchases made in the stores, the store sends us the subscription confirmation and its identifier, which we use to verify it and, if you ask, to refund it. |
| Support reports: app version, device model and Android version, the beginning of your playlist's server name, number of channels, the last lines of the app's log | When you send a report from the settings, or automatically if the app closed because of an error | Understanding and fixing bugs. Usernames and passwords are masked on the device before sending. |
| Technical network data (IP address, date and time) | Every time the app talks to our servers or checks for updates | Running the service and protecting it from abuse (for example repeated password attempts). |
The details needed to reach your playlists, your libraries and your folders stay on the device. They only leave it, encrypted, if you link an account, to reach your other devices. The key that opens them is kept separately and protected, so you can get them back even if you forget your password.
3. What stays on your device
- Your videos. The app plays them directly from your NAS, your computer, your media server or your playlist's service. They don't go through our servers and we don't see them.
- The Studio. The studio's name and logo, client names, welcome messages, backgrounds and appointments stay only on the device where you set them up: they don't reach us and they don't travel with the account.
- "Open on power-on". If you turn it on in the Studio, the app asks Android for permission to open when the TV is switched on. It is used only for this, and you can withdraw it whenever you like from the TV's settings.
If, to reach your folders when you are away from home, you use an app that connects your devices, such as Tailscale, that app is a separate service that you choose and install yourself, with its own privacy policy. NanoZap TV does not receive or share any data with it. The same goes for your media server: if you sign in with its maker's account to connect it, the sign-in happens with them, under their privacy policy.
4. What we don't collect
- We don't record on our servers which channels, movies, series or videos you watch, except inside the encrypted synced data.
- We don't use advertising, ad profiling or third-party tracking tools, in the app or on the website.
- We never see or store your card details: payments are handled by whoever collects them (see below).
- The website does not use cookies.
5. Why, and on what basis
- Providing the service you asked for (account, sync, Premium): performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR).
- Security, abuse prevention and bug fixing (network data, support reports): our legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f). You can object by writing to us.
- Legal obligations, for example tax rules on purchases: Art. 6(1)(c).
6. Where the data is and who we share it with
We don't sell or hand over your data. We rely on a few external services that process it on our behalf and only for the stated purpose:
| Service | For what | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Servers for the account, sync, reports and updates; the website | European Union and United States |
| Brevo | Sending account emails (confirmation code, new password, deletion confirmation) | European Union |
| Lemon Squeezy | Premium payments on the website: acts as the seller and handles invoices and taxes | United States |
| Google Play | Premium payments in the app downloaded from Google Play | According to Google's privacy policy |
| Amazon Appstore | Premium payments in the app downloaded from the Amazon Appstore | According to Amazon's privacy policy |
For payments, Lemon Squeezy, Google and Amazon are independent controllers of the data they collect and apply their own policies. We only receive the purchase confirmation, with the email or the subscription identifier we need to link it to your account.
When data goes to the United States, the transfer is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or by the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
7. How long we keep it
- Account, devices and synced data: as long as the account exists. When you delete it, we erase them immediately.
- Confirmation codes and new-password links: they expire shortly (the link after one hour) and are then erased.
- Support reports: 90 days, then they are erased automatically.
- Purchase records: for as long as tax law requires.
8. How to delete your account
You can delete your account at any time:
- in the app: Settings › Account › Delete account;
- on the website, with your email and password: nanozaptv.com/elimina.
We erase the account, saved playlists, libraries and folders, favorites, watch progress, linked devices and Premium status, and remove your email from the service that sends our emails. We send you one last confirmation email. The data then remains only on the devices where you still have it, until you uninstall the app. If you have a subscription bought on Google Play or the Amazon Appstore, deleting the account does not cancel it: cancel it from the store.
9. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to see your data, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, receive it in a readable format or object to its processing. Write to [email protected]: we reply within one month.
If you think your data is being mishandled, you can contact the Italian Data Protection Authority (garanteprivacy.it) or the authority in the country where you live.
10. Children
NanoZap TV and its account are meant for people aged 18 and over. If we find out that an account belongs to a minor, we delete it.
11. Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll say so in the app or by email before the changes take effect. The date of the last update is always at the top of this page.
